Clopay and our dealers have teamed up with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" to donate and install garage doors for several projects over the years. Our time and materials are a small cost compared to the feelings of joy, inspiration and good will we experience knowing that we've helped improve the lives of so many deserving families.
The episode that aired Friday, December 9 was no exception as Ty and his design team rallied together to build a new home for the family of an aspiring teenage designer named Wyzhir Johnson-Goslee, who lost his hand last Christmas Eve while trying to do work on his old house.
If you watched the episode you know what an amazingly talented and positive young man he is.
We are thrilled that a Clopay Avante Collection aluminum and glass garage door could be an integral part of Wyzhir's newly constructed design studio, and are confident that having a room with such an incredible view will result in many inspiring projects in the future. Take a look:
Designers selected a 2-1/8" commercial grade clear anodized aluminum frame with clear tempered glass for Wyzhir's studio. PJ Walker and the team at Hickman Overhead Door in Milford, Delaware managed the installation.
Additional frame colors and glass options are available to control the degree of natural light and privacy.
At the press of a button, the door is automatically raised, allowing traffic and fresh air to flow during gatherings. Closed, it creates an attractive wall of windows, adding a panoramic view to the space.
