Two Showcase Homes Not to Miss

Clopay garage doors are featured on two designer showcase homes currently open to the public for tours.

This 1830s farmhouse renovation blends historic charm with twenty-first century updates including the addition of an attached two-car garage with a guest suite above.

The architect chose 2" polyurethane insulated 4-layer steel and compositeClopay Coachman Collection carriage house garage doors with insulated rectangular windows and an “A” frame panel design to complement the clean lines and rustic architectural style of the home. The 18.4 R-value provides year-round comfort to the living space above the garage.

The 2012 Idea Home is open for tours now through December 23, 2012.

A portion of the proceeds from the home tour ticket sales will be donated toCamp Southern Ground, a summer camp for children ages 7 - 17 with typical and special needs.

Santa Barbara Design House and Gardens – Santa Barbara, CA

The Santa Barbara Design House and Gardens is a philanthropic showcase home project developed by actor Dennis Franz of "NYPD Blue" television series fame, and his wife, Joanie in conjunction with the Junior League of Santa Barbara.

The home is open to the public for tours now through October 7, 2012. Proceeds support youth literacy in Santa Barbara.

The 6,000 square foot Hampton’s style estate is nestled on 1.62 acres of prime gold coast land anchored by majestic California Coastal Oak trees, some over 250 years old.

The property features a private tree-lined drive, an outdoor gourmet kitchen, outdoor wood-burning fireplace, loggia, swimming pool, authentic bocce ball court, an exquisite two-bedroom cabana and a detached two-car garage.

These carriage house style garage doors look like old-fashioned swing-out doors but operate with the convenience of a modern overhead opener that can be controlled by a smartphone.

The architect selected Clopay Reserve Collection custom wood carriage-house style garage doors handcrafted in Western Red Cedar with a grooved panel design for the home’s two-car garage. Cedar withstands the natural elements making it an ideal wood species for a garage door in any climate.
