Rob Van Winkle, a.k.a. Vanilla Ice, may have been a one-hit wonder in the music world, but he’s struck gold as a rapper turned renovator in the Florida real estate market. His top-rated house flipping reality show, "The Vanilla Ice Project", is in its third season on the DIY Network.
Audiences may tune in for the celebrity, but they keep watching because it’s obvious Ice knows what it takes to bring buyers in the door.
After a successful partnership in season two, Clopay and Broten Garage Door & Gate signed on to help add jaw-dropping curb appeal to another mansion in need of the Vanilla Ice touch.
Here’s how it turned out.
This vacant 7,000 sq. ft. Palm Beach mansion had seen better days.
Ice knows curb appeal brings buyers to the door. He chose Clopay'sCanyon Ridge Collection Limited Edition Series for the home's front-facing two-car garage. Model shown: Design 37 with ARCH1 top.
The Canyon Ridge Collection is made from a low-maintenance material that won't rot, warp or crack. The doors have a 2" polyurethane foam insulated core for maximum strength and energy efficiency in both warm and cool climates.
The garage doors have a rustic appearance that fits perfectly with the Polynesian architectural theme Van Winkle wanted to achieve. The faux wood cladding is molded from Pecky Cypress and Clear Cypress boards assembled by hand.
Hurricane Ready: The garage doors are reinforced for wind resistance since the home is in a hurricane zone.
