We have a confession to make…we officially have an insta-crush.
Sandra C. at “Old Silver Shed” captures the essence of life on Cape Cod year-round with stunning views of her home by the sea.
Add in a dusting of snow, Cape Cod coastal charm, and festive Christmas decor, and it becomes the house holiday dreams are made of.
Sandra recently replaced her home’s wooden garage doors with Clopay Canyon Ridge 5-Layer faux wood carriage house doors. After years of exposure to salt air and temperature extremes, the originals were weathered beyond repair.
A professional designer by trade, Sandra always tries to do what is authentically accurate for her home. She was skeptical to move away from real wood, but says the benefits of faux wood doors made them the perfect choice.
“Today was install day! How do you like my new garage doors? (I LOVE THEM!!!)”
“I absolutely LOVE the simple design!” Sandra says. “They look just like real wood but are actually composite overlays adhered to an insulated steel door. We have always loved our garage doors but the wood rotted and buckled in only a few years; that’s life by the sea!”
She had the doors factory-painted Sherwin Williams “Greenblack” to match the front door and shutters. The color has a lovely patina that makes them look like they’ve been there all along even though they are brand new. And they’ll continue to look like they did the day they were installed because faux wood composite is UV- and moisture-resistant so it won’t rot, warp or crack.
The doors were installed just in time for her to deck out the house, like she does every season.
These pictures are only a preview of this stunning home. Her Instagram account is definitely worth a follow.
